I Gotta Guy
“I gotta guy.” Do you imagine hearing this sotto voce from a fedora’d and deeply lapel-ed Robert DeNiro type? NOPE! Just me, with a big circle of trusted trades and other service providers (guys and gals).
For my entire career, I’ve made it my business to know good people who do all sorts of jobs and services really well. From the needed and expected, to the very, very niche.
And, as an independent consultancy, part of what The Refreshed Home does is put people who can solve problems on the radar of those who have these problems and need them fixed. My metrics for them are the same as I hold myself to: Are they nice? Good communicators? Fair? Smart and good at what they do? Respectful in the house?
Just this past week I introduced:
- A sign guy to a busy physician client
- An upholsterer to a fellow
dog-walking neighbor - An organizer to a downsizer in distress
- My branding guy to an environmental testing company whose website was not connecting the dots
- My favorite window cleaning service to one of the brokerages I work with.
- The best carpet cleaning service to a neighbor
The week before?
- A photographer to one agent, and a staging company that offers rental furniture (I do not) to another
- An online auction site to clients needing just a few pieces of furniture for their photoshoot
- An estate sale manager to an executor and their attorney
- My favorite appliance salesman for a friend whose fridge hummed its last
- A handyman to someone I called as a reference for a GC I was planning to hire
So what do you need?
Want to sell your book collections? Need your paper or digital footprints tamed? Have crystal chandelier in a 3 story entry that needs to sparkle again? Maybe a painter, GC, estate sale manager, specialty plaster guy? Yup! Check, got ’em!
They need to start soon? Oh, and they have to like dogs? Maybe you need someone who’s multi-lingual? Or have a commercial project where work needs to take place nights/weekends? I got that guy/gal! Like my friends, clients and neighbors did above: Just start the conversation!
